I lived with John for a year in 1984/5. Got up to all sorts and yes he did teach me to forge a press pass. Photographed my sisters wedding, but I don’t know how he managed because he spent all night partying. Greatly travelled and well loved man, John Muffer Ando Anderson. RIP Legend. You won’t be forgotten

Your dad would have loved his “send off.” He was so proud of you boys and his love of life is infectious. So many wonderful stories! Much love Sally Birchall

Ando always had a story or five for me about my Dad, John Starr from their younger years adventuring. More recently he was not only the encouragement but the mastermind to helping my Mum and Dad sneak across the QLD/NSW border. It was shutdown days before my wedding, controlled by police during covid lockdown but it’s no surprise it was Ando who helped them cross so they didn’t miss my big day – he was already doing it himself! Thank you Ando, rest easy.

Thank you for letting me share this sad day with you. Whilst a celebration of his life a sadness that he is no longer with us. Ando always kept in touch after all these years and I have extremely fond memories when he was in London at the end of the 70’s with Johnnie Starr serving beer in the Sun Inn pub, London, in the middle of winter wearing shorts and thongs (flip flops to us) much to the pleasure of all the customers. Thank you Ando for those fun times and for keeping in touch right up until the day before you passed away…be at peace my friend… Marilyn x
