Dear Frankie, We were saddened to hear of David’s passing after only meeting him again after some 50 years break at Sue’s birthday. We know he will be sadly missed by everyone that knew him. Please accept our condolence to you and the rest of the family for your loss.

Deepest sympathy to Frankie and Family. Thinking of you all. I watched this wonderful ceremony for dear David and felt I was there. From one of Frankie’s many loving cousins in North Qld, Linda Barns nee Carr.

Mrs Rees you may not remember me. You were my grade 1 teacher. My maiden name was Stacey Bielawski and my mum Daphne Bielawski was the cleaner at Redbank School for many years. I got to know your husband a little as he and mum would see each other at the school and he and mum would sometimes chat. My mum passed away at the young age of 61 over 31 years ago. I am very sorry for your loss. You were a very kind and awesome teacher.
On that note can I just add that your father Mr Burr has a very important place in my heart. If not for him and his dedication I am convinced I would have totally failed school. I owe him a debt I can NEVER repay. I hope you don’t mind me using this platform to tell you that but I have no other way to honour him. I still think of him and will forever thank God for his guidance as my grade 7 teacher. That man changed my life. I have always wanted to tell him that I am absolutely sure I am not the only past student of his that can say that. They don’t make them like that anymore.
